A song about strong characters I've met from the North of England, Some relentlessly optimistic people who inspire me in the hardest of times. There's more than a nod here musically to those hard working early Soul musicians, mainly from Detroit, who created the uptempo, less commercial, classic Soul records that were first appreciated in the North of England and became known as the Northern Soul genre.
